“This game started with a bang. My entire LoS was casualtied by three blocks in turn one. Thinks looked bad indeed. Luckily the storm calmed down a little bit after that apocalyptic start. Somehow I was even always able to field 11 players - smelling salts proved to be a very useful handicap indeed. So was doom & gloom, especially in combination with the rain.
Failed pick-ups in rainy conditions and lack of rerolls gave me some opportunistic chances to steal the ball and take the lead. Right before half-time I even thought to have a decent chance on a 2-0 lead after some chaos midfield where the ball was lost in quite a lot of tackle zones. The rats managed a lucky touchdown however, equalizing the score at half-time.
I got the ref in the second half, and had dp to make use of it. Not withstanding a foul in turn one on a gutter runner (RIP -> apo saves him) I didn't make use of that advantage though. And that was a choice I made after having lost focus on the ball in similar conditions in other games. It proved to be the good choice and managed to secure the win although that came at a price of a dead wardancer. 80k winnings were nice, and a small compensation for the loss.
Good game, nice opponent, lots of chaos, lots of scrambling for the ball and lots of blood - I'll never forget that turn 1!! ”
