The Investigators entered another Gate, this time to R'Lyeh, to try and close off one more entry point from which the hideous monstrosities enter Arkham.

The first part of the battle went exceedingly well, the Investigators hammered their way through their opponents. However the longer the battle went on the worse the Investigators fared, and the better their opponents managed. Whereever you looked Investigators where knocked unconscious or worse, while they managed little in the way of retaliation.

In the end it was all they could do to survive the fight, retreating back out through the Gate to the relative safety of Arkham. Vincent Lee, the Doctor, was forced to seek medical assistance himself in St. Mary's Hospital. A new recruit, Patrice Hathaway, has come forth to take his place while he recovers.

The Investigators taste their first defeat, but this has only made them more determined to stop the ancient horrors that threaten Arkham and, indeed, all the world!”
