“Real Sociedead 1 - 1 Aberdoom

With two of Real’s toughest games, B’Orca and Mummywell, already out of the way and whopping 6pts bagged, an under strength Aberdoom looked to offer little resistance in comparison, but just to make sure Real hired the Count once more...

Whilst everyone’s attention was aimed in admiration towards the awesomeness of the Real Sociedead team, sleight of hand Phil78 palmed the coin and elected to receive (which incidentally Russo did last night, albeit in a very different game).

The LOS was filled with awesome Zombies and behind such an awesome wall one brave Count stood centre field. The hockey pokey dorfs drove into the LOS... cracked bones and torn sinew ensued and as two zombies were sent to the cas box (to regenerate) then three plucky dwarves conspired to topple the Count as they headed butted him repeatedly in the groin, sending him to the cas box!

Three men down, 90K for 16 turns worth of groin massage practice a wannabe Igor, things looked grim! Real tried their best to recover as more players left the field and the Count was quickly joined by two more Real positionals as Real struggled to both contain the mass Hobgoblin DPage and chase down the ball.
A last ditch attempt failed to topple the ball carrier and Aberdoom sailed it home.

Despite the horrid first half, Real’s deep bench and regenerating zombies still allowed them to field 11 players. Coach SeraphimRed gave each and every player a stern talking to and sent them on their way to receive.

Blitz!

SeraphimRed covered his face as Aberdoom tore into their half. Real had to act fast and took this opportunity to split Aberdoom’s team into two. Aberdoom rallied, pressuring the ball that Real had still failed to pickup, but their numbers were starting to dwindle and their Bulls were starting to look like bully no mates. When both Bulls were downed Real Zombie, Dragon, had the rare opportunity to select which to boot... the choice was made for him as his teammates pinned down Big Eck... he ran in and *Thwrack*, Big Eck was sent to the CAS box and Dragon left the field to rapturous applause.

The Threat of the second Bull, God, was dealt with next as following his take down Manly Hits ran in with another delicious boot, splitting God’s hind legs in two and killing him instantly. Though Real would take no Zombie from this Legend Kill they would however take home a lovely side of beef. In mere minutes, Aberdoom had gone AberBOOM and Real were left to comfortably tie the game.

Considered to be two points dropped, the Premiership has now opened up. Real go into the Reavers game with two key players out, and Aberdoom face off with almost guaranteed defeat against B’Orca.

Given that I face two undead teams amongst my last few games I opted to take the Count. Playing the averages I gave him a central spot figuring that Phil wouldn’t be able to get 2d on him... the LOS was obliterated and in fact Phil just needed the 1d to send the Count out of the game, three players down in my T0, no foul... it was like playing Russo. My decision to place Count there was terrible... and it won’t be a mistake I make again! :(

At that point the CD swarmed me and I did all I could to leave the half with a handful of players as phil78 did his level best to cripple my lovely Ghoulies!

At my T8 a rolled double skulls on my second block and didn’t even get the chance to deal some damage and then in the second half a Blitz... I just figured this wasn’t my day.

The only silver lining was that Phil’s Bulls hadn’t been having a good day GFI or dodging so his Blitz ended early. With his formation broken and little damage to my defence I was able to cut a couple of his players off and make the most of it. CAS started to roll in, an Apo’d CD RIP and then Nuffle arrived to claim his dividends for the first half, Niggle & RIP Bulls in quick succession! Ouch.

A draw was a good result after the opening but has severaly dealt my Championship aspirations a killer blow, especially with Reavers next and a couple key players sitting it out. :(
