“No one could see this game and deny that the Refugees were truly blessed by Nuffle. With the exception of poor Fitch's untimely demise, it seemed like nothing went wrong for the boys from Riversmet, and nothing went *right* for Asmodei's Brood. The double skull that the Brood threw up when trying to take down Riversmet Catcher Reynard d'Wulfe—on the sidelines, no less, and with a decisive ball possession at stake—was particularly indicative of just how lopsided Nuffle was feeling this go around. Of course, Reynard then promptly dodged out of two tackle zones, scooped up the ball, and another dodge later was scooting into the endzone. To add injury to insult, the Refugees impossibly managed to kill two beastmen in the first half (and KO a third in the second half).

I can't give enough kudos to Angelic Brimstone for sticking this one out. It was painful to watch, even for being on the winning side, and he took it as well as anyone can ask. Here's hoping his luck turns around soon, just so long as it doesn't turn around against me.”
