“Tougher game than I could have expected, given the way the teams matched up.

Early on, the Count dodged and blitzed his way through my whole team before I stopped him just shy of the goal line and fouled him out for a KO. With a numbers advantage and a ST5 BoB marking the ball, I thought I could steal the drive, but Slice dodged out, dodged in, grabbed the ball, GFI'ed a bit, and scored with it. 1-0

Stunned, the Legion gathered themselves for a return drive with 4 turns to respond. underlife threw the kitchen sink at us on defense though, and we had to resort to a T8 handoff to tie it, and 3+/rr/3+ failed us. 0-1 undead at the half.

We took the kick in the second half with a renewed focus on bashing our way to victory. Despite persistent harrassment by ghouls and zombies, we managed to keep thew worst of the pressure away and stall out the half. We tied it at 1-1 to go to OT.

Both teams lost DPs to fouls, with underlife losing both their in the first 2 fouls of the game and the Legion losing one of their 2 on the foul to KO the Count in the first half.

OT started with the Legion receiving. It was All Hands on Deck for underlife, with no rerolls (versus our 3) and needing to prevent us stalling the half out. Our ST4 blitzer took the ball and approached the wall we made near the LOS. ST4 ghoul Run took off like a maniac, 4+'ing his way through the line to 1db the ball loose and mark it. What the?!?! The undead threatened immediately to steal the drive. We had enough guys back that we could 2db with Tackle/MB and KOed the threat, taking the ball back with Brakgul Deathbringer who carried the ball 45 squares and won MVP for the game, but never actually scored.

The Count then began leading the harassment. Using Hypnotic Gaze and multiple zombies, he opened up a hole to the ball again but skulled the blitz. We moved the ball closer to the goal and ganged up to eliminate the count, planning to foul him, but Saurfang did the job all on his own, Badly Hurting the Count for no regen (side note: we apo'ed a -av to Saurfang early in the game, and he came back to be the true MVP when it was all over with). We almost got too cute at the end, trying to skill up a 14spp blitzer and letting underlife have a shot to punt it, but a GFI to get there was his undoing.

In the end we mashed the ball in on T16 (after a lucky bounce was caught by Thrall. After that T23 play secured the ball, we quite messing with Nuffle's blessings and finished it, 2-1.
