#9 Norma Jennings – Dead (RIP)
E.L.F. Season XXVI

I'm glad I got these Category A episodes out of the way. That was a whole lotta Tackle out there. Tough win against a fun coach who said he was drunk but I could barely tell. Except for stumbling through a tackle zone once by mistake. I had some luck early in the 1st half scoring the first defensive TD and I needed it. Second kickoff I had a harder time getting the ball. Knocked it free, but couldn't hang onto it and ended up just trying to keep it away from Mustikset. 2nd half I received and was able to score in 2 turns, though not without a little sweating. Dodge was working pretty well today (when I wasn't near a dwarf), Leap was ok but I tried not to use it too many times, and the gfis were ok though I spent some rerolls on them. After the 2nd TD, I was down to 9 players and was putting my Dodge line elves on the LOS. Norma Jennings met with a gruesome end in her scene with the chaos dwarves, but I withheld Dr. Hayward's hand since she was already hobbling on a smashed hip/ankle (-ma). She joins Mike Nelson and Leo Johnson on the list of characters that may return in a future episode. The rest of the cast held firm, giving Truman and Deputy Brennan a badly needed opportunity to sack a CD blocker who had somehow picked up a bouncing ball when we KO'd their AG 4 hobgoblin (Tytti). Then I made a bonehead mistake and didn't look at the scene clock. I failed to send Agent Cooper downfield to get in scoring position and ended up having to just protect the ball with Sheriff Truman as time expired and the episode came to an end. Probably worth it since the shutout was worth 2 E.L.F. points, but I would have tried to score a 3rd TD if I had realized how little time was left.

Decent money from the producers and our show ratings (FF) went up, but the loss of yet another cast member means we'll probably be running with another extra (Journeyman) next episode. Once again this week's extra, Cory Coldhammer, checked out early in the episode but still received a full paycheck. I really need to talk to the producers about paying these folks AFTER the show is over.

Thanks for a fun game, Jullutin, and I hope your team eventually ends it's perfect record.

Skills (2):
Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole - (4 4) Strong Arm. The Long Arm of the Law just got Longer and Stronger! Chief Cole really displayed some Agency textbook moves today, completing two passes and then scoring his own TD when his receiver was clocked just paces from the goal line. We look forward to seeing more of Chief Cole in future episodes.
James Hurley - (4 4) Guard. For a guy who spends most episodes worrying about his bike, or washing and gelling his hair, I'm not sure when he managed to learn any skills. Or what exactly he did to get voted MVP by the audience. But we'll take it. Guards are always needed and he does look cool in his biker's jacket and no helmet.
