After the battering they had taken in the previous round, the Miners started as underdogs against the Dark Elves, but with the hitting power of the Longbeards, anything was possible.

The Dark Elves started the game with the Dwarves unable to get near them, as they made every dodge. The few blocks the Dwarves did make seemed ineffective, as the Dark Elves went on to score for 0-1. Seeking the chance to remove players from the pitch the Dwarves brought on their star player with intent on fouling (since he was going to be sent off anyway) which he did twice (as the ref had adjusted the clock), both for KOs.

Into the second half and with the Dark Elf KOs not returning things looked a little different, as the Dwarves marched down the field, clearing even more Elves as they went. The Dark Elves made a few attempts at the ball, but although almost successful it left them without rerolls as the Dwarves score for 1-1. The ref gave the Elves a brief chance of a score when he got his timekeeping wrong again, but when that failed it was overtime.

The 7 remaining Dark Elves received, to the disappointment of the Dwarves, but when they tried to move the ball a crucial hand off failed and the Dwarves dived in to take the ball. There was a brief chance for the Elves to recover, but when it failed the Dwarves took the ball down field to score for 2-1, taking them into the next round.
