“Luck on armor and injury rolls ruled the day in this game -- I put a bunch of casualties on the opponent early in the game, admittedly not hard to do against snotlings, but when the ogres started dropping, things got worse. Chainsaw stayed on the field for the entire first half, injuring an ogre and a snot... but goblins got into the act too. (And the troll. Once.) Only two players on the Ogre side managed to stay on the field for more than half the game. That's rough.

Huge mistake to close the first half -- after several turns of lousy handling luck in a rainstorm, the ball bounced to troll Chuck D, who grabbed it in multiple tackle zones. He advanced slowly up the field, and on turn 8, he opened up a blitz action to clear out the last defender and score the first TD. Only thing is, I clicked block instead of blitz. Troll knocked the guy down and stood there. Boo.

Fortunately, by this time, the opponent's ranks were greatly depleted, and with the aid of a timely blitz, we were able to score three times in the second half.

So... yeah. Fun game for me, bad luck for the opponent, but he was very gracious about it. It happens to us all, and with any luck, the ogres should be back in top shape in no time. For all the casualties, they didn't take much ongoing damage, which is cool. Good luck and thanks for the game!”
