#15 Henchman 24 – Damaged Back (NI)
#15 Henchman 24 – Damaged Back (NI)
#16 Henchman 21 – Broken Neck (-AG)
A very fun little game which saw Nurgle flexing their muscles and putting players out early. Because the opposing team only had 11, that proved crucial -- and ultimately, I think, decisive for the game.

Rookie Norse berserker Jack had a very eventful game. He was seriously injured by the Monarch on the first block of the game, but an apothecary roll allowed him to come back for the second drive... when he was hit by a rock before the kick even landed. After a failed block saw him cause a turnover, he finally proved his worth by injuring a rotter... only to get himself injured again early in the second half, this time by the Sovereign.

Meanwhile, his fellow berserker Franklin applied himself to hitting Nurgle Warriors, injuring one and knocking out at least two with his piling on. Someone killed the Sovereign, but he got better. And both Henchmen were forcibly retired in one game.

All this talk of hitting aside, this was actually a fairly high-coring match as well. The Lads' indomitable runner Andrew scored a touchdown, among other deeds. This guy was in my hair all game with his blodge/sidestep/fend nonsense... we've played 8 games now. We barely have block, let alone any way to deal with that. We knocked him down, I think, once -- or two fewer times than he managed to dodge out of the Sovereign's tentacles.

Meanwhile, Monstroso rumbled in for a touchdown after getting the ball on an out-of-bounds kick late in the first half, and two Pestigors also scored TDs. Iggy Pop learned to block. So did Underbheit and the Intangible Fancy.

Good game, good game. The Guild is back at .500, and while they're not exactly where I want them, they at least mostly have Block now, so that's good. All the injury-causing skills/guard/tackle/Nurgle Warrior tentacles we need are in sight, at least. We're 20k away from our fourth Nurgle Warrior, and that's effectively the end of the building process. (Except replacement players -- and maybe another reroll or two.)

Thanks to Jeff for the game, and good luck with your team -- hope to play you again some time!
