“An extremely disappointing end to a relatively successful season. The Badgers found themselves incapable of moving in the pouring rain. They played as though their pads were laden with 100 lb weights. They spent most of the game just getting back to their feet as the Smackers relentlessly knocked them back down again. We don't expect much from the shambling dead in the way of strategy either but their game plan was lack luster from the start.

Coach Von Mortis was livid during the game and refused to show up for the post game press conference. He could be seen cursing the spectators from the sideline and screaming fanatically about how "lucky his team was" in what seemed to be a highly sarcastic tone. Von Mortis will likely be fined by the league for his inappropriate actions during the match but we doubt it will make much difference.

The Badgers have lived up to their namesake this season as they never said quit but a large part of their success was attributed to their ability to decimate opponents on the pitch. In games against tougher opponents and matches where they didn't hurt as many of the opposition the Badgers have been poor all season, losing all of the matches that they didn't win the CAS battle in. This playoff match against the Smackers was proof of what can happen to the Badgers when they encounter a stronger and more heavily armored opponent. Most everyone knew it going into the match as the spread for the game had the Smackers giving up a point to the Badgers on average. So despite being the higher seed the Badgers were still the underdog going into the game and the bookies were right as the Smackers easily covered.

Overall the Honey Badgers were better this season then most had predicted them to be. Especially after ending the preseason ranked 13th. So there are many positives that can be taken from the season. However, they need to work on their mental game if they are going to have continued success in this league. Their focus is too easily broken once their game plan of "eat the opponent" fails. But Honey Badger don't care...and this attitude could keep them at the level of a mediocre team if they aren't careful.”
