“Thug Life’s second game of the Rookie League saw them take on the Dark Elves of Shadoweaters. Things immediately got off to a bad start for the Thugs when a short range kick prompted a speedy Shadoweater blitz! Dark Elves swarmed around the ball and the Thugs had to scramble to retrieve the ball and swing it out to the opposite flank. The Dark Elves chased and harried, with the always aggressive blitzers looking for a breakthrough. However, some clumsy dodging from the usually agile Dark Elves helped Thug Life break across the line of scrimmage and push deep into the Shadoweaters half. Valiant efforts to break up the cage by the Witch Elves ultimately came to nothing and the Thugs rans in a late first half TD.

Second half the Thugs kicked and braced themselves for a fast Dark Elf attack. The violence level rose as both sides scrapped for control of the line of scrimmage. Two Dark Elves fell badly hurt to the giant fists of TuPac, while 50 Cent was taken down by a vicious strike from a Dark Elf blitzer, leaving him out cold for the rest of the match! Shadoweaters pushed down the wide zone but found the way bared by Thugs. A powerful Black Orc blitz sacked the Witch Elf ball carrier, and the ball took a huge bounce from the side lines backtowards the Dark Elf end zone! A wild scramble followed as Orcs and Dark Elves raced back for the ball. Both sides exchanged hard hits and tried to place tackle zones on the ball. In a strange twist, a heavy Dark Elf hit on an Orc saw him fall face first onto the ball, causing it to bounce into the hands of Snoop Dogg! A Dark Elf Witch Elf sprinted towards the brawl, but tripped over her own feet on a Go For It and knocked herself out cold. With numbers in favour of the Thugs, the Orcs cleared a hole and Snoop Dogg ran in a late second half TD to make it 2 - 0.

An enjoyable game against a good opponent. Things could have been different if the Dark Elves hadn’t failed so many dodge rolls!
