“This was a tough match played in constant rain. Orcland kicked to the Elves in the first half. The Elves caged around a catcher and looked to play a running game in the rainy conditions. The Orcs tried to muscle their way into the cage but the Elves covered the ball well. Late in the 1st half the Elves made a break for the end zone; Biggutz was able to slip away from his marker and sacked the ball carrier! The ball bounced loose and Biggutz retrieved it! However, the Elves struck back, Biggutz was sacked in turn, the ball bounced loose and there followed a display of agility as the Elves dodged, went for extra squares and threw a pass for a TD and the 1 - 0 score.
Second half the Orcs received the ball and started a march down field. Some heavy hits from the Muscle crew put several Elves in the hospital and weakened the defence. The Orcs ran in a mid-half touch down to make it 1 - 1.
With just turns to go the Elves broke out quickly looking for a Hollywood passing move. But the Orcs beat down the receivers and kept the back field clear. Nevertheless, some slick play from the remaining Elf catcher saw him burst into the endzone waiting for a long bomb pass - however, the Elf lineman carrying the ball managed to throw the ball into the ground barely a yard away from himself!
The game ended 1 - 1, a fair result for an evenly matched contest.”
