“One of those matches - just couldn't capitalize on our chances when we had them. Last turn of the first half was a prime example: rerolled pushbacks into double skulls, which left the Nordiques a chance to make 4 GFI, a successful blitz, a 5+ pass and the 3+ catch to tie it up. Second half was more of the same - popped the ball early but couldn't do anything with the scatter and it was quickly picked back up. Finally, the Nordiques failed an important GFI and we blitzed the ball free... but it was caught in the rain off the bounce by another hobbo. The one die blitz of our sidestepper was a pow and the hobbo waltzed into the endzone (well, he did trip a bit but righted himself), making it 2-1. However, there was hope, as the kickoff result on turn 16 was a riot! Quickly dispensed of two line hobbos and set up to receive. Only one thing was amiss: no one could pick up the ball and we ended the game with it sitting there at our feet. So, sadly, we were shown up by the agility of the Nordiques' hobgoblins, which is, certainly, quite embarrassing to any self-respecting high elf.”
