“Don't worry, it was definitely a nuffling that I didn't deserve to win. I'm sorry you didn't get any new skills. I would've liked to pick for lizards!
Better luck next time, and perhaps a rematch at some point with a fairer pair of teams.”
“Ooooff. Few people, if anyone, will ever read this, so humour me to ruminate a bit.
I'll admit, my confidence was a bit too high, as we won our previous game starting with only 8 players (5 saurus, 3 skinks). Didn't mean to take a JM this game either, but made a downright stupid misclick. But what resulted... crushing.
Now I've certainly lost my share of games because of bad playing, and I'll confess, I made a few mistakes here too, but Nuffle spanked me pretty hard here. That said, rather than drag it out in some melodramatic/emo whine-fest, I'll simply state my case, and the world can decide if this was in fact an unlucky game or not.
BAD THINGS THAT MADE LIZARDS CRY:
1) Awful Racial Match-Up
2) Big TV Difference
3) Inducements 10k short of Chef... and 40k wasted
4) Opponent supposedly playing Dwarves-- brings an Elf
5) Lost Coinflip --- crucial
6) -2 FAME disadvantage
7) Nuffle gives pretty epic recovery to Dwarves to score on T8
8) Seriously rotten KO rolls, Krox sits out for most of game
9) 5 Double skulls in 34 blocks, 2 consecutive
10) Lizards don't cause a single KO or casualty all game
11) Winnings Roll: 2
12) 5 Total SPP earned
It deserves to be said, however, that Coach gjopie didn't exactly always have amazing luck, and he was a gentleman throughout. I wish I could have enjoyed the game more, and the only thing that really gets me is the utter failure to gain any SPP, which puts a damper on gaining any new awful skills!
gratz on the win, sir!
