“Matched against the more experienced team of blocking Lizardmen 'Ziggurat Serpentis' the Everglade Rangers decided to hire the services of an elven mage with their inducements. A dreadful blizzard howled across the pitch as the players took to the field. Losing the toss and being asked to kick the Ranger's also found themselves under fire with rocks being thrown from a hostile crowd. Kroxigor Gortlax the Skull Keeper was in frightening form as he took out two Rangers and the elven dugout soon started to fill with KOed players. Rookie Treeman Gladewarden Oakheart tried to single-handedly hold the line but took root, ending his contrubution to the defence. And so it was left to Wardancer due Forestsong and Wildheart to force the play and they soon connected to steal the ball and run away with the first touchdown. 1-0 to the Rangers.

Patching up as many players as possible the Rangers again set up their defence and sensing that early touchdonws were the key surprised their lizard opponents with a blitz! In no time at all Forestsong had layed out another skink and Wildheart took an impossible looking catch from a bouncing ball to run away for the second. 2-0 to the Rangers.

Desperate to salvage something from the first half the Lizards broke down their right flank only for the irresistable wardancers to link again to retrieve the ball. In the dying second of the first half the Rangers attempted an audacious passing play in the snow but it proved to much even for their silky skills so the half ended 2-0.

Receiving in the second half and with the wizard still up their sleeve it always looked like a case of how many more but the Lizards held their line well and when Gortlax finally took out Forestsong the game suddenly looked more competative. Taking matters into his own hands, Wildheart, running as quarterback leaped passed a saurus and blitzed his way past a skink to complete his hat-trick for 3-0.

Forestsong was still nursing a sore head as the teams set up agsin so it fell to Wildheart to go after the ball carrier. Leaping through and sprinting Wildheart made his block, stripping the ball from the rookie skink's grasp. Sensing the moment, the elven mage doubled the attack on the unfortunate rookie as a lightning bolt flattened him! The Lizards managed to reclaim the ball but when another pass was fumbled it left the door open for a possible fourth for the Rangers. As the ref brough his whistle to his lips, Wildheart dodged away to the endzone where he took the catch from an Aearon Silverleaf pass. Final score Kaldrien Wildheart 4-0 Ziggurat Serpentis! The jury appreciated the elfballing exhibition to give Wildheart the ranger's MVP too!
