We started pushing the Necros back and maintained a spread out line. Draknil went slightly off centre behind. We Chew started to hit us hard and didn't leave a lot of room for manouvere. Surely we had to switch over to the other side and be patient. But no as Draknil rushed off down a flank others tried to stumble after in support. It was the wrong choice and as a zombie fell Draknil got taken down by a Wight who caught the dropped ball and we were all over the place. We tried to regain order but couldn't do enough. They were too good and made their way across the field while the Villains flailed ineptly. Poor effort on our drive but critics will point at the early coaching error. 1-0 down at half time.
After the restart the Necros again were knocking us down all over the pitch. The Werewolves and Wights seemed to have great ball control and were moving well. They made a quick td to get that important 2nd point on the board.
It looked bad and we were determined to at least have something to fight for. This time Draknil was better shielded without spreading players too badly in the advance and he did well to get the ball over the line.
Suddenly a blizzard reached the area and all were engulfed in snow. We only had a brief time to get the ball back and take an equalizer while the Necros just needed to get the ball past us or keep it safe. A werewolf, Bruce Chew, was left back to take the ball. He was neither the most agile player available nor had much experience of these conditions. Straight off he fumbled the ball at the back of the field. Necrophil barged a zombie out of the way so Draknil and the Faceless Hunter could charge through the gap. A ball bruising kick to the groin of Jackie Chew by Knut Kneecapper Bones took out one possible ball receiver in our half but it was another fumble by the suddenly confused Bruce Chew that gave us our chance. Draknil and Faceless Hunter combined to smash the hairy thing down and Draknil had enough ability to stay upright in the slippy conditions and touch the ball down in the end zone. Another save by Draknil and that takes him to the highest ever Undead scoring record! ”
