“There's always hope in the season opener, after all you're in first place!

Coaching in his first game, John "Crazy" Fox was worried about the ball-hawking human team. Worried about fumbling Fox countered with Star Player Zzharg Madeye. Perhaps not the fleetest ball carrier but he is sure handed.

Winning the coin toss there was no choice but to receive. After all, the Stone Faces were up against the salary cap and forced to field players from the tavern in the Hotel which they stayed. The opening kick sailed off into the crowd playing right into the Centaurs hand. Zzharg plodded up the field and the Chaos Dwarfs inched forward stunning players here and there. Inevitably moving forward it put the Stone Faces in an increasingly negative position. The core of the human team were unshaken and bound to come up with the key play to unlock the Chaos Dwarf offense but ultimately were let down when rookie Hans Needlemeier was pancaked during a key block halfway through the first half. Like novicane, the Centaurs offense eventually worked going up 1-0 as time expired in the first half.

Coming out of half the Centaurs looked to be in perfect position. Up one man, their own Apothecary had saved a brutal looking wound in their own half, and with Madeye engineering their score their confidence was riding high. The Easter Island team knew they had to dig deep otherwise this game could turn into a laugher. Almost on cue one of those drunk loners from the tavern let the whole side down on the first play of the second half ([Skull][Skull] reroll loner fail). The rest of the half snowballed into a rout with John Hellway and Ryan "C" Lady adding scores.

The fans of both teams are feeling the polar opposites after this game. On one side you have fans who's expectations are now bigger than ever and in the other camp they've perhaps all but given up, but this broadcaster knows that seasons aren't won or lost on Gamd Day #1. Let's see what the season has in store for these franchises.
