vs.

This was a classic scramble for the characters of Firehurler. We underestimated the sheer lunacy of Barry White (which feels odd to type), and the ST5/AG5, Leaping monstrosity popped the ball loose on us on our first drive for a score.

After that, we switched gears. We set up for a 2-turn offense, since cages seemed unlikely to deter Sinister Routine. We crowded their runner for a cas and pushed their monster blitzer out of the way, completing a passing play for the score.

The Blitz! that followed looked sure to turn the tide. We caught the kick near the sideline with a wall in front, and Barry off on the far side, up the LOS a ways. Sinister boxed us in a bit, overloading against our overload to the bottom side. Firehurler had left a couple stragglers topside, and we used them to reverse field and pass the ball away, but not to safety. We lost it again, the crowd threw to the middle of the field.

A Strange Break in The Action Folks: An electromancer is visiting the Sinister Routine dugout with some paperwork, apparently there to work on some sort of maintenance order. We'll be back after these words from our sponsor
Orca Cola jingle plays

Back on the pitch now, there's a brief scuffle over the loose ball, but the dark elves' agility wins the day and the score. Somewhere in the scuffle, Barry White got stepped on by Jimony, who was wearing his new Dashing Player brand cleats (at least that's what he told us the "DP" on the side stood for). In fact, Jimony was "tripping" over a lot of lads out there today ... maybe he got the wrong size.

Second half, down 2-1, we have a few man advantage on Sinister Routine. We press them and win the ball, not once, but twice. Blitz! wasn't enough to gain the ball for us, but dogged pursuit and good Tackling did the job. We end up with a jog to the end zone twice for Brannis, who swore after the game to pitch in a bit more on the physical side of the game.

GG, swahsven. You gave us an excellent chapter, filled with action and suspense.
