#10 Beatha – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
The first foray into LOBBL began inauspiciously as the heavens opened and deposited a great deluge upon Kra-iti Sin-abad and his band of Dawi-Zharr.

The Borosians proved stronger foes than expected and proceeded to march relentlessly onward in well-drilled fashion, bludgeoning as they went. I must admit it was an impressive martial display, but it should have been no match for our men. Clearly the idle summers had affected them more than anticipated.
The misfit band of chaotic humans and their freakish slaves scored with ease.

There was time left to respond before the teams broke for a brief respite, but in the end the quality of our slaves failed us. This only serves to highlight our cause. We need to increase the quality of our slaves.

In the second half we began in control. Having shaken off the rust, we gave a reasonable account of ourselves once battle commenced. A well disciplined display saw our brothers redeem themselves with a quick equaliser. I believe the slave Deap was the one who successfully infiltrated behind enemy lines on this occasion.

Battle recommenced only moments before sundown. With only moments before the armies would be forced to scatter, the foul humans made a determined effort to win the day, but our men held strong and in the end the battle was tied.

I am forced to report that there were no specimens worthy of our primary objective and so we return empty-handed. On a positive note, the encounter did serve as good training for our men, who should perform better in the next raid.

#2 1st Officer Smaye – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
After a period of inactivity, letting some unwanted law enforcement attention die down, the Roses crept out of their hideout in the Bahaal Canyons and headed for Yantai to face the Dawi-Zharr.

Captain Japh had spent much of their lay-off befriending an outcast from the local Ogre tribes, inviting him along to watch their next game. Many of the team were somewhat disgruntled, both by Japh's absence from their camp, and by the extended lack of action after the promising start to their new sporting career. This showed during the match, with a rather lacklustre showing from the team.

Rrhraaughuarr refused to return to the pitch for the second half; Big Tarrk, sullenly staring at his captain, feigned injury as soon as he stepped on to the pitch; and poor Smaye paid the price for the break since the last game, as his older frame felt more keenly the lack of a proper warm-up.

Despite Japh's insistence that they should stick to their usual plan, the team refused to throw any fouls, depriving them of the opportunity to leave the field and ransack their opponent's belongings. This, combined with the final result, meant the Captain stormed from the field in a foul mood at the end of the game.

Japh was worried; Rabbh, the Ogre he had encountered, had agreed to join the team. However, the extended lay-off, plus the lack of loot from this game, had cleared out the team's coffers. It was time to plan the next job, and it would need to be something big...
