“Rookie Rumble CCLVI game 1

The ladies of the forest had the crowd and all the rerolls (I think they got 3 extra rerolls from kickoff events), but they didn't have the dice. First half was nip and tuck until Pinocchio put on an elvish display and dodged out of a very dire situation (4+, 3+ and had to run backwards). But this inspired the rest of Storybrooke and they rallied to make sure he got into the endzone. Except for Sidney Glass, who decided to live up to his name and take the 2nd half off. The Protectors came close to scoring an equalizer in T8, but 1 gfi too many meant no rerolls for the catch. 2nd half they just had too many turnovers (skulls and 1s on pickups) and the Characters were able to collapse on the ball. Took a while, but Mr. Gold eventually got it to Pinocchio and the slippery little wooden boy sealed the game.

Thanks for the game, and good luck with Amazons. Your statistics page says this was your first game with them, but you certainly didn't play like it.

Edit: The MVP for both teams went to the one player that got Badly Hurt on each side. Guess the fans wanted blood.”
