#5 Blueberry Muffin – Smashed Hip (-MA)
#6 Tiramisu II – Serious Concussion (-AV)
As the fans streamed into Cake Stadium ahead of the match up against Nurgle Loves Us team captain Carrot Cake had to watch from the sidelines as he recovered from a pinched nerve in the previous game.

Never a great spectator, he watch as the rookie Tarte Tatin III lined up in his usual spot as the Cake's won the toss and chose to receive the kick off.

Carrot could see that Tatin had called for a south sided offence. The Cakes drove down the flank and stalled for a couple of turns before scoring on turn 5. Of note in this drive was The Elder Thing (beast of nurgle) standing around being stupid for a couple of turns as the play passed him by.

Loves Us' drive gave up an opportunity for Black Forest to hit the ball carrier, but the ensuing attempted pass went awry giving Nurgle the chance to strike back but their pass was fumbled and the half ended 1-0 to the Cakes.

The second half started with The Elder Thing blitzing the massed ranks of elves, and rolling skulls and both downs before the ball had been made safe. This allowed the Cakes to streak through a gap and put two tacklezones over it.

A pick up in tacklezones gave Nurgle Loves Us the ball, but a 1D leaping blitz popped it out again, only for the ensuing 1D block to bring up skulls and leave the ball on the ground in the Loves Us half.

In the meantime, the casualties had started to bit with Tiramisu II being forced into early retirement and Blueberry left with a permanent limp.

The Loves Us third turn was highly successful with armour breaks and POWs all over the place, leaving just seven of the cakes on the field and only three standing before a push rerolled into a double skull ended their turn.

A couple of turns with neither side taking control of the ball ended when Banoffee blitzed Pesty (a pestigor) onto the ball and the lucky bounce put it right into his hands which he grabbed with a six, (two tacklezones, one disturbing presence). The blitzer was then able to dodge away to double the Cakes' lead.

With only seven elves left Nurgle Loves Us went in for the kill, but a failed pick up left the ball once more on the ground deep in Nurgle territory. A fumbled pass and beneficial return from the crowd, enabled the Cakes to score a third with two turns remaining, but the Nurgle team were unable to make their passing play to leave the final score 3-0 to the cakes.

As Carrot surveyed the scene after the game, he was happy that the team had succeeded without him, but he couldn't wait to be back for the next game.
