Tough Warpstone Open IX Qualifier XII Final loss for the Dactyls. Hopefully we can make it into the final on the sweepstakes draw and try to hurt some more elves. We aint that good at it now, need more practice.

Very fun game. Grue is a great coach, and Im starting to hold my own vs him and other Legends. I play so much box, jthe only Legends youysee there are the ones that min/max and try to cripple teams. So when I get into a battle of placement like this game, I am out of my league a bit. Well, I guess I need more practice. o/

#6 Newt – Broken Neck (-AG)
#11 Dietrich – Fractured Arm (MNG)
Warpstone Open IX Qualifier XIII: Round 4 (Qual final)!

As rain pours down coach is one happy grue, winning the toss and electing to kick in the hopes that the cold blooded opponents won't be able keep their grip on the ball.

Light blocking and a bone headed Krox play toward the elves as coach grue decides full contact on the cage is worth the risk. The gamble looks good as elf armor holds up and by turn 4 a blitz presents itself on the the ball. Skink down but the elves can't hold on to the bouncing ball in the rain - but Salmon Garfunkyl can! The Skink swoops in and make the 5+ pickup look easy and he's off like a rocket into scoring range. Bishop tries to bring him down but can't do it alone, wisely waiting for Salmon to trip on his on next turn. Hicks makes the pickup and runs it back in the "correct" direction, but coach keggie plugs up things very well with lizards and it looks like a tricky dodge for a score until Ripley blitzes in for the chainpush. 1-0 Elves.

In the second half coach grue gets scared of the looming wizard and driving rain and foolishly decides to hang back looking for a safe score and trying to stall in his own half. Lizard pressure is excellent and the ball is bolted free at while at the on the other half the only scoring threat is pushed into the stands. In the end I get lucky to hold onto the lead, despite my poor choice to hole up. Thanks for the game sir, and I hope I'm as lucky in our rematch!
