“Speed Lords 10th game was a thing of beauty - tense,wide-open and fun.
Started with a blitz! for those nimble women, but luckily ball is kicked deep into my half so I'm able to put some reasonable protection up. Failed GFI meant i had to leave opening rather than risk turnover, and Angels of course went for it and popped the ball. Rest of the half was spent recovering position, and turn 8 saw a missed opportunity for a score that would put Lords up. We did score one KO that did not came back, so numbers advantage for second half was there.
Second half was an interesting affair: Angels decided to work both edges of the field and split their forces up- thus enabling Lords to deploy superior strength as a deterrent to blocking, while using speed advantage to set up some blitzes on potentional scorers. I used this to set up a nasty crowdsurf that resulted in a dead Amazon, and sent a harraser after the ball. Sadly, harrasing the ball apparently meant being stunned in the middle of the field after a failed GFI. Angels went for it and put the ball in the hands of lino that was ready to score next turn, but my movement advantage enabled me to get blitz on the ball, since Angels did not had enough players to cage effectively. After that, one wasted turn from Angels - direct turnover on 1st action (dodge failed with RR) meant i was able to advance the ball and secure position for a 1-0 result.
Now it's time to develop player pictures for my Lords of Speed ;)”
