Rats.

1st half, chose to receive, had the ball, a 2 man advantage and the position, handed off to a saurus for a score and a skill, who dropped the RR'd ball. But it was all well screened, ball in 2 TZ's (including Krox), no problem. Then a GR made a 2+, 2+, 3+, 4+ dodge to then make the 4+ pickup, and then a 5+ long pass - Interception failed - and the 2+ catch.

And one block double-skulled, using the last RR, and the 3d surf was Skulls & Both-Down. Rats.

But Coach F did not chooose to stall, so Schmaurus had 3 turns to even it up. Kick landed in the hands of the Krox, on the LoS, and the 2nd block skulled out. Ballcarrier was swarmed and a -2d got 2 Pows - and the ball landed right in the hands of the Blocking rat. Chainpushed the ballcarrier to a block, popped the ball loose - and it landed in the hands of the Saurus that had started the chainpush - no options. Needed that one more turn, but no luck, only skink able to move into scoring range got Powed, 0-1 at the half.

2nd half, defense looked in good shape - the Krox was marking the ballcarrier, multiple marks on others - but again, rat-dice came thru. 3+ dodge, failed Int, 3+ pass, 3+ catch (in a TZ!), then(!) the no-skill Blitz to free the sidestepping marker - Pow. After 2 gfi's = 2nd score, down 0-2.

Receiving Turn 3, things looked bleak, but the defensive plan was to avoid getting hit and just let the lizards score - so we did, without even a RR, and with the same Saurus for the skill. (And earlier a Blocking Saurus had Cas'd for a skill - two-fer!)

Kicking mid-way thru Turn 5, had to stop the Rats to tie - and again, looked good (especially after the ROgre went out (apo failed), but the dice refused to be intimidated, and a "straight up the gut" GR run ignored all TZ's with a 4+, 4+, 3+, 2+ dodge & 2 GFI's into the endzone, and then another GR simply dodged, 3+ passed and the ball was caught for the game-sealer, 1-3.

Turn 7, tried to set up to score w/ another 3 spp Saurus (for the 3rd Saurus skill!), but Nuffle would have none of it - skulled a gfi before the pickup, and Turn 8 could only use 1 of the 3 remaining RR's, and that wasn't enough, game over.

Grats to coach Freekster - when MA 9, Ag 4 and the dice all team up, nothing can stop them.

Rats. ;)
