“This was a very close and exciting game.

The match began with a rather bungled turn in which our new thrower jeopardized his employment by bungling a pass on the first turn of his career, and nearly handing the ball to the enemy, but Ricksa caught the scatter and saved the day.

Neither side could hurt the other for several turns, but eventually both Claws found purchase, with Castilio handing out the first casualty to a very hardy Hobgoblin, leaving him a cripple.

Smallman made a very astute decision to go after Prosigoreus (who did not have the ball) about midway through the first drive, which truly would have destroyed our prospects for the game. And with only AV6, he looked very manageable... DoubleSkulls nearly saved him... but were RR'd into a knockdown. Pizza, the Chaos Dwarf killer, caught him by the tail and piled atop him, mighty blows pounding into his soft fur.... BUT PROSIGOREUS REMAINED UNSCATHED. A quick rise and dodge, put him into position to receive the ball from Ricksa, who was all to happy to be rid of it, and 'Siggy dashed down the field to park at the endzone.

Some bad rolls put the Dwarves in no position to score in the remainder of the first half, and (after doing some damage, bringing the Underworld down to 5 players) they decided to not stall in the second, scoring on turn 5 and hoping our underhandedness would give them a chance to do better than a tie. However... they made the common and fatal mistake of underestimating Prosigoreus...

Deploying his special Warpstone ball-magnet, the kick landed perfectly in front of 'Siggy, and he scooped it up and raced into scoring position, screened carefully by his loyal blitzers. The dwaft response was fearsome and nearly stopped the ball, but the Troll freed an assist, and 'Siggy blitzed his way through the hobgoblins, and into the endzone.

Now, with 2 Turns to score, 2 rerolls, and only facing meaningful opposition from 3 rats, the Chaos Dwarves looked inexorable on offense. The Lost Children blitzed and marked both potential scorers, putting all their trust in Nuffle and hoping he would thwart the drive... And he did–– with Sol the superstar hobgoblin falling down on the final GFI into the endzone.

Great Bloodbowl all around, and a nice match against a good coach.
