#5 Dada – Smashed Hip (-MA)
#9 Emeric "Leader de secours" – Fractured Leg (MNG)
Fumbbl Cup XIII - Round 8 (semi-final)

Great match against nice but ugly Nurgles!
First half-time
I receive first. My plan was to bypass the warriors on the LoS to attack on the side. First blocks didn't work well, so I prefered to stay on the LoS trying to win the blocks battle thanks to my guards. It took time but it finally worked. I had an opportunity to build a good side-attack, I tried it despite the lack of players to keep the ball safe enough. It almost worked, but some failed rolls made it harder, and I finally decided to do not take care of the score to do not give nurg two rolls to have their KO's back.
0-0

Second half-time
That strategy worked, the best warriors were still KO and the second half seemed very easy. But my BC (Dada) was injured in the 8th turn. She usually is my last defender, keeping the back of the pitch.
The first turns of this half worked well, I had early a chance to blitz 2d his BC, just needed one gfi... snake. Maybe I should have moved my Golgoth back as a security before trying that 2+ roll. I think I was overconfident. But as JimmyFantastic said: Well maybe you are like me and don't like to blame the luck hehe.
It was an easy TD for the nurgs, but I put pressure to avoid a stall.
0-1
So I receive without my favorite BC, but my ag4 CW is used to replace her. The attack seems pretty easy, nurg warriors fell into a trap, trying to block one side of the pitch, but I have enough time to move on the other side. The 8ma pestigors are coming back, they reached my BC and get a pow 1d, bounce placed the ball farther from the endzone. But I only need some blocks, pick up 2+ and 2 gfi's to equalize. And again, 2 gfi's are failed.
0-1

OT may have been pretty easy, nurgs were outnumbered and I still had my CW's and guards on the pitch. It made me feel like DukeTyrion when he failed a similar move during our 6th round match. I was frustrated but fatalistic.
I've made some mistakes, I was surely overconfident. But the 2 snakes didn't help at all.

Huff played well, of course. And his team is nicely built. I can blame the dices, but I have to congrats him about this match, and his FC run.

About my FC run
My wish was to demonstrate that a versatil chaos team, with the right skills, and adequately well coached, can run far in a tournament, not only relying on Cpomb to make the matches easier.
For example, the round against smallman was a great positional match. Tacklers and guards helped me a lot to win against those DE while making only one cas. The next round was against Cpombers and my chaos only made one cas too.
Chaos is a nice roster to build up. Their lack of skills at low TV is their best strength to be versatil at high TV, if you pick some useful skills.
Malmir was pretty funny, saying he didn't want to see a team like mine winning the FC. He has lost against claw+mb chaos, but he played in a so weird way that he has lost without understanding why (only blaming Cpombs when you give lots of blocks without using your guards, it's funny).
During the whole run I tried to be optimistic, I've watched lots of replays of my opponents to understand their playing and to find the way to "punish" them on their weaknesses. By this way some of my matches could see very easy (and lots of coaches will only think about "cpomb"), but strategy is the greatest part of the wins. I don't want to be pretentious, just trying to point that Cpomb is not the key of my wins, even if it helps in some cases. If you are relying on cpomb to win, surely you won't win all those matches, against DE, orcs, nurgs, chaos. That's my humble opinion.

Thanks
I have to thank a lot of people about this FC run.
Thanks to every opponent I've faced, they all tried their best, were positive and almost didn't complain about the match-ups or the way the have won/lost.
Thanks particulary to JimmyFantastic, for being a great "lucky charm", at least until the semi-final :)
Thanks to every coach who supported me or my team. You were great fans!
And congrats to smallman and DukeTyrion, imo they were my best two opponents (about team and coach skills).

And congrats to Huff for winning the FC final against Dhaktokh!
