“A shallow look to the score would tell that it was just another good dice day for Remnants. But that's not so.
Choosing to kick, they got involved in a scrum in the left half of the field, while exposing the star Wiland in the right half to a gfi blitz from a wolf Beta, which chance the Scalded's coach The Demon didn't miss, sending the ball carrier to the ground. Of course, Remnants prentended that it was a feint designed to crowd-surf the lone wolf, but nobody believed them when they rolled skull then skull on a 1d block against that wolf. The emotion-fueled wizard to the group of 3 necros & 1 undead just stunned the undead again. The ball firmly in Dogz' hands, they are stalling to score...
(Aside: there were a lot of double skulls in the half, like 7 or 8. Luckily, almost all rerolled to a good result.)
...when a greedy zombie double-skulls on the last-turn block, thus forfeiting the sure td. Of course, things look good for them because no less than 6 Remnants are in the KO box, and the tackle-blodging killing machine has hurt himself.
The second half rolls around and all 6 KO come out! (And to be honest to history, both of Dogz' KO.) Full 11 v. 11 half commences!
In the second half, the Dogz get involved in a scrum in the center of the field, while exposing the ball-carrier within the reach of one gfi blitz from Wiland. Which chance I didn't miss, sending the ball carrier to the ground! Dogz tried to show that it was but a feint, but - skull then skull on a 1d block! Wiland promptly gets the ball and gets out of reach. A couple of greedy blocks followed, but this time nothing failed, so a touchdown for Remnants.
In the last turns of the match, Dogz had a chance to equalize with well-timed Pitch Invasion, and their ghoul got very close to the finish line, but 4 gfi and 2 dodges did their thing and the ball was secured. A gratuitous 4+ pass followed for the second td.
In other words, just another lucky dice game for Remnants.
Great game, I honestly didn't think I could manage the win here!
The_Demon, good luck in the season! We'll meet for a bloody necro revenge.”
