“Slayers get a true chance of a Finals event in a Major.
Pretty much let down my dice. We go for the receive and get a Blitz against us and from there the dice just gradually rolled against us in numerous ways.
Opponent played well, but wasn't overly taxed as were struggling to do anything.

The Cult of The Scourge truly brought their 'A game' today... The opening kick-off Blitz set the tone. The Cult were able to put immense pressure on the Souless Slayers right from the get go. An early casualty (non-regenerated) to a Slayer wight helped allow the Cult to prevent a score in the opening half.
The second half resulted in a bribe the ref... The Cult put the boot to good use as DP Hujk knocked another wight and a ghoul off the pitch. From there it was the Cult's game to lose.
We marched down the field and into scoring range... A 1-0 win seemed unstoppable... Then, turn 13 arrived, with 4 str ghoul standing next to the end zone and no RRs, the Cult *stupidly* (and rushing) decided to make a 2 BD block before moving players (no gfis required) into the 7str Mummie's TZ. Obviously, nuffle decided to punish the Cult by giving them double skulls (one of the few set-backs in the game).
Suddenly, out of no where the Slayers had a chance to possibly force OT but failed a gfi and the Cult were able to rest easy and step across the goal-line for the 1-0 win. A crucial tactical error that almost cost the Cult the UI qualifier and an invitation to the UI major... We will need to be much more careful in the future!
Tough game for Prez given the early blitz and numbers advantage, etc. A fun game though as he managed to continuously put himself in a position to take advantage of poor luck to the Cult, but that just was not the case on this day.”
