This was certainly a good game and fittingly for a final the result hung in the balance right till the end. The dwarves dropped to 12 for the game and bought a wiz - giving up a free babe to the elves in the process.

First half the elves chose to receive and escaped from the ratcheting dwarf pressure by scoring in turn 3. The elves channeled the spirit of their niggled kicker into the next kick and the dwarves were struggling to cover the ball. Without secure control and no momentum the drive failed to get going and eventually the ball was knocked free - both teams had a chance to grab the loose ball, and it was the elves who finally got hold of it but they didnt have time to score. 1-0 Athel Loren.

Second half the elves started with 7 and were not able to challenge the dwarves offence, who ran in an easy equalizer in turn 12. When all the babe inspired kos recovered the elves were well placed with 9 players and 5 turns to win the game, versus 11 dwarves and a wiz. Turn 14 the dwarves finally send down the lightning bolt, allowing a blitz on the ball carrier - and a bunch of gfis later had secured the ball. The elves couldnt recover and the dwarves scored in turn 16. The elves 1 turn attempt came down to the last 3 gfi with a rr in hand, but the 1st gfi failed, rr success, 2nd success, 3rd failed and the despairing wardancer tripped and fell headlong into the end zone to hand the dwarves the win and their third cup triumph in 9 seasons.

It was a great example of positive bloodbowl, big teams at high tv playing an exciting game.
