“FUMBBL B Minor MW IX-1 Round 4:

This was a weird match from the start, Undead received and we managed to amass a pretty stout defence against a block, fend, side stepping sure handed ghoul named Le magasin de jouets. We had several 1 BD chances with either wrestle or tackle but had no success. Eventually, we managed to get a 2BD hit (tackle) with no sucess as well. Finally we left him in a very difficult position where he neede a pow, a 4+ roll with no RR and a 3+ roll to score, and he managed to do so. We got the ball back in the first half and managed to add a late score to tie it up 1-1 heading into the second half.

With a wizard looming over our heads we played somewhat conservative offence, always making sure we had players around to recover in case of a zap. With the ball safely behind enemy lines and a RR in hand we decided to hand the ball off to a dancer but snake eyes and a terrible ball bounce let it out of bounds and being thrown in near undead players. Thankfully, a failed undead pickup let to an easy 5 ag recovery and we managed to cover up the ball well, again pressing to score.

Finally, the wizard showed up and boy did he... A massive fireball took out the ball carrier and both players protecting him causing one KO. This allowed the undead team to recover the ball and cage-up. With fewer and fewer players on the pitch, the elves had to try a drastic move, a 3+ leap followed by 1 BD hit on the ghoul weilded a pow knocking him down and stunning him. A failed pickup near the sidelines pushed the ball out of bounds again where it got tossed in on the opposite side of the pitch (still in the offensive zone), now with only ~4 players on the pitch, it was looking like we'd be going to OT.

A failed knock down on the dancer allowed for Gabriella to escape with a 3+ leap, 3+ dodge, 3+ pickup, and 2+ dodge to safety. We managed to defend her as well as we could, forcing their tackling killer La Grande Gueule to dodge and gfi twice to make a hit. A RR was used on the dodge and the 2nd gfi failed, leading to a non-regenerated niggling injury -- Brutal. This allowed Gabriella to easily walk in and score.

We were feeling pretty confident with just 2 turns remaining and undead out of RRs. Our 2 BD hit on his ghoul in scoring range led to him wrestling us to the ground, where we manged to surround him pretty well, with no RRs, the ghoul managed to 2BD hit and pow a blodger, dodge 4+, 3+ and gfi twice to get into the end zone... Now all that was left was the pass. The superstar ghoul got into short pass range, in the sun, and managed an accurate pass but the silly ghoul standing in the end zone dropped the ball ending the game and giving Elf Yourself the wild 2-1 victory!

This victory thrusts Elf Yourself into the B-Minor finals. Also note worthy, this was only the 3rd loss for "Tous au Parking !!", whose record now falls to 27/4/3, nearly an 88% win rate! Similarly, this brings Elf Yourself's record to 12/1/1, a nearly 90% win rate, but with significantly fewer games player. We look forward to the rematch between two premiere teams! :)”
