#1 Junior – Gouged Eye (MNG)
#12 Chance – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
NCBB season 23 game 6

Horrible 1st half for Karak. The 2nd half was only marginally better, but we still managed to tie it up.

1st half the Techies of Karak Universiy forgot how to block. In addition, 3 players (including Chance and Junior) were out of the game (with Chance and Junior out next as well) thanks to Helmut, whom was excellent in the 1st half plus one turn (taking out at least 3 players and stunning a couple others). Luckily, on my scoring drive he failed a couple times that help spring Thompson free for the Tying TD. Anyway, there was no way to stop Rolla from rolling over KAMU in the 1st half and we went into the break down 1-0. Thompson did complete a pass on turn 8 to keep his streak alive (21 straight games with a completion now)

2nd half was only slightly better. We did get little better at blocking, and caught some breaks as the Gold Diggers began to fail a roll occasionally--a critical one was failing to Jump up and hit Thompson when he was only 7 squares from the EZ. This opportunity to tie the game was seized on by Karak, as we were able to free him from any TZ and actually avoid the trip wire at the EZ for the tying score. Still, we could not stall (started the drive down 2 players 9-11), and left Rolla with 3 turns to try to score. And despite a blitz, the Diggers were poised to score easily. A failed GFI on turn 7 left the ball on the ground, but Larry was not able to clear the marking players and Thompson failed to dodge away. With plenty of players, the Gold Diggers blitzed Larry only to end the game on a Double Skull block..Karak feels fortunate to have walked away with a tie.

And the game gets worse..as Keyoke--the senior Blocker with only 2 spp in 4 years of play (of course he got the casualty in his freshman year) is voted the MVP of the game, and (unfortunately--I was hoping to graduate a rookie) picks up guard (well, I do need guards).

Bought a blocker (Glen), so I have 2 dwarves for the next match.
