“Ouch!

When those undead hit, they really mean it. Three straight deaths and a fourth that was reduced to a -MA by the apothecary (and I retired him anyway). So it looks like were going to be playing in the little league for a while now, until we can save up enough to replace the ogre and the second catcher.

It wasn't a good sign when the ogre rolled a triple skull on the first turn, and was then fouled to death on the follow up. I'd been relying on him tying up the flesh golems for me. Oh well.

I managed a single pas for 2 yards on my first drive (after the ogre was carted off, I was a bit nervous of risking a longer throw) and ran most of the way down the field for the score. And after that, I was never on offence again, so the thrower didn't get to do anything else except get in the way and get hit a few times.

All the other TDs came from the undead failing something and allowing me to get in there and recover the ball. And there were A LOT of turnovers.

Thankfully, both halves were shortened by riots, which probably saved me another injury or two, and this meant the undead just didn't have the time they needed to get back into the game once they were 2-0 down. Also, a timely blitz for me was what allowed me to get the second score.

So there you have it. I'm not sure whether I'm pleased with the win or upset by the death toll. I had been thinking of working this team up a bit and entering them into the FUMBBL Cup, but I doubt they'll be ready now. And none of my other teams is built competitively, so now I'm not sure what to do. Let's see what the next few matches bring me. Maybe there's still hope for this lot after all.”
