#6 Galdarin – Dead (RIP)
#9 Thuralin – Smashed Knee (NI)
CIBBL year 4 summer: SCRIBBL Climax Qualifier II: game four.

Satisfied with yet another win, Timaris Stormwing was still enjoying the last game of his Meddlers against the Tower of the Necromancer. Sure, Galdarin had died on the pitch (and Timaris had forbidden the team's apothecary to intervene) and Thuralin would have to be sent on an early retirement, but the match was won and final victory in the qualifier had been secured. As a cherry to top off the pie, nobody had noticed Timaris inspecting the field once the match was finished, picking up some Necrarch bones left on the pitch after Count Ludovig III had been removed from the pitch.

The game hadn't started that well though. Facing a wizard and Hack Enslash aiming at violating some soft elven flesh with a bribe on top isn't what you'd wish for on a regular Sunday. On top of that, Beldroth Boombark rooted to the spot in turn one after the kick-off had offered another bribe to each team. Fearing the wizard, the elves approached very cautiously, perhaps too cautiously. In turn 6 the Meddlers suffered a snake, leaving the ball carrier open to a blitz. Which is exactly what happened. Things looked quite bleak indeed, having lost the ball with the wizard still in play. The ball was kicked loose next turn (and the ballcarrier removed), but bounced into the hands of another Necrarch. Not good. But then it was the Necrarch's turn to snake, allowing the elves to recover the ball and perhaps even score. But a 1 on a gfi decided otherwise. Still 0-0 at halftime.

This meant that the elves had to steal the ball and survive a wizard in the second half. In other words: time for elven magic. Timaris sent in his wardancers. Just like last game, their intervention would prove decisive. Morlanna leapt into the cage and kicked the ball loose. Then Vanhir followed applying his AG5 and secured the ball. That was the time Timaris feared a massive fireball would hit his elven squad. Instead the mysterious Necrarchs opted for a lightning bolt... and it missed! Worse, they suffered another snake and things suddenly looked very well indeed for the Meddlers. The elves scored in turn 4. Next drive kick-off was a riot, reducing the number of remaining turns for the equalizer to 3. The Tower still pushed for a touchdown but ultimately failed to squeeze through the elven defense: a somewhat lucky 1-0 for the Meddlers!

Yes, summer had been good to the Meddlers. The SCRIBBL Climax Qualifier had been won. A second trophy would soon be added to the team's cabinet. Things were finally going well.
