In the elves' defense, one of the turnarounds came after a nerves of steel catcher failed a catch (1 reroll 1) which was set for a fairly easy touchdown... so at least catching up a little bit was within reach for a while.
Eventually, the numbers caught up with the Bodega, and they didn't stand a chance.
