I tried. But after two successful books on my first turn, my next seven consecutive dice rolls were 1s, leading to my first three turnovers and leading to Kulmbacher 11s first score.

After that, my following two turnovers were at least after I'd managed to get hold of the ball, so I was able to score as soon as I stopped rolling 1s.

And then I rolled a blitz on the kick-off, so all was forgiven. I caught the kick, then got knocked over by a tree, then managed to make three go for it rolls in a row and threw from a TZ for the score, so my luck was back where I like it to be.

Grandm4ster then pulled one back as the half ran out, and we went into the second half at 2-2 and both still with full squads.

The second half began with a kill against me in both the first two turns - the first was a loner, the second was successfully apo-ed, so no big deal - and then Grandm4ster chose to stall out six turns. I took the opportunity to blitz with the tree (until he took root) and then settled in for the final turn one-turn attempt.

This ended rather abruptly with a double one on the catch, to be followed moments later with a 1 on the winnings roll.

So all in all, this game is not one that's going to be making it into my all-time favourites. ”
