“The Villains faced Wood Elves. They have ag6 and ag5 players, but only one reserve.
There was a riot. Shockingly the Wood Elves then cas'd two zombies from the start. Soda failed to regen and was killed! What an embarrassing start against such delicate looking opponents. They passed by our line but we kept hassling them. The Wights were about to put pressure on them but the Black Wight snaked a cursed gfi. As the Elves started to mess around for a stall they left a blitz chance on the Wardancer with the ball. Reroll didn't result in a wrestle or knockdown but we did push him into the endzone….. but strip ball meant instead of a quick score the ball went off the pitch! (Was it prompted?). What a horrible use of a skill. Another Elf then managed to get the ball back and with support stalled some more.
We really missed that turn lost to the riot earlier. We got a bonus rr but alas a handoff attempt failed.
Second half we were against 10 players. Our Mummies started to make KOs and we slowly advanced. The first leaping attack was foiled. We advanced a bit more, protecting the carrier. But a leaper came in again, and with a rr'd 1db pow'd the sure handed ghoul down. The Black Wight caught the ball. We kept going and now looked more confident as we got to 11 vs 6 players... But incredibly their ag6 Wardancer leapt in and -2db tackled down the Wight! We had 4 players around but the ball fell in to his hands, and he caught on a 5+!. Then he dodged away from my tackle. We still had a blitz chance. A wight got to him but the blitzing ghoul.... failed his gfi! The Wardancer then moved along and passed the ball away. A zomb picked up but of course couldn't do a long bomb. The game was lost!
A disappointing one as we could have had more turns to score first half, and then 2nd half it seemed we had grinded our way to a strong chance of a draw.
Few spps either, but the villains will return!
