#6 James "Jack" Daniels – Dead (RIP)
#9 Seamus McFamous – Seriously Hurt (MNG)
Good evening Mordheim and all other Blood Bowl fans who are tuning in to the match today between the Mordheim Legion and the Erengrad Vikings. My name is Merlin Oldsoul and I’ll be announcing the game tonight. We should have a classic tonight. Legion comes off a win in the cold climate of Volksgrad only to play another match on an ice rink atop astrogranite. The Vikings are coming off a rare loss to the Fools Point Rangers and are looking to right the ship at home tonight. The Viking crowd are plenty inebriated and ready for the action to get underway.

Appropriately, this match will start as a howling blizzard has rolled in. The kick is a short one but it looks to be well covered. Wait, there is premature Viking movement. Spelledaren has called for a blitz and sends Jester Weah to get the ball. He catches it but the Legion swarms forcing him to cough it up. Knuckles drops the first boot of the night but only manages a glancing blow resulting in a grin from Weah.

The ball is free in the middle of an ugly scrum. No one seems to want the ball and paint a target on their jersey. Somehow old Jack Daniels gets the ball. Here comes knuckles. No! What an amazing diving tackle by Weah. Maybe that is why he was smiling.

Here come the Vikings. Daniels goes down but somehow manages to dump the ball off to Bullet. A collective four letter expletive reverberates across the frost bitten field. A foul from Knuckles sends Zutar to the bench for a breather and Bullet dances away toward his own endzone.

Oooooh the ice plays a role in the match. Edwards manages a dodge away from McFamous but slips on the turf trying to hard to blitz Bullet. Now Bullet breaks down the Northern sideline in front of the Viking bench. (A deadly place to be.) Max Murtair make his presence known by sending mighty Paul wright to the bench for a breather. Danford also slides of the pitch in pain. He will hear about that one. The combination thrower and kicker Kizer was responsible for the hit.

Massive John Bull decides it is hero time and tries dodging through tackle zones to reach Bullet but the effort is too great and he hits the ground. Bullet zings past with only daylight in front of him. Once again knuckles tries to flee but cannot avoid the diving tackle. This time he is hurt and the Apothecary races to the rescue. Knuckles limps to the bench but the Mordheim Apothecary signals there is nothing to worry about.

Without Kunckles Legion seems to have lost a bit of pep. Bullet is stalling on the goal line watching his team mates push players around but no one is knocked down. He risks stalling one more turn even though he knows Weah is going to reach him. Probably a bad choice. But Weah does not blitz. He moves into contact with Bullet and relies on his abilities as a tackler.

In the meantime, Vitale finds a skill he had forgotten and fouls Seamus McFamous. Seamus fails to adequately protect himself and will miss the remainder of this game and at least one more. Finally, Bullet bullies Weah with a stiff arm and steps into the endzone. And that will be enough to wrap up the first half of play with the score Legion 1 Vikings 0.

Well there is a bit of excitement you don’t see every day. A bunch of mad Viking streakers flash onto the field stunning a pair of Viking players. Ogre security guards have them by the…..Beards…..I don’t think they will do that again anytime soon. When attention returns to the game, the Vikings have the ball well protected and have a play building once again on the Northern side of the pitch.

Clearly Legion has overcommitted to the north. Vitale hits Munoz knocking him out of the match and Dall blazes toward the southern sideline. He is wide open and Hengist does what they pay him to do by throwing a perfect pass to Dall. Without hesitation he goes into the endzone to even the score at 1 each.

Legion takes the ball back and begins concentrating on the line. Jester Weah is standing on the line of scrimmage. When he goes down Knuckles had to remember the diving tackles he had endured in the first half. Weah is surrounded by 5 Legionnaires when Knuckles drops the boot. Not only does it take Weah of the field, it leave him with a Niggle to remember the occasion.

But John Bull will take no more. With a solo blitz and a punch to the throat, Jack Daniels goes down hard. He will not get up. Call the Undertaker, he is Dead, Dead, Dead!

Now Carlton Davis harasses the ball carrier only to be brushed off by Tommy Turner. What’s this, Max Murtair tried to hit Thompson only to get the wrong end of the exchange. The ogre Murtair is down and there will soon be multiple free runners on the ball. Price blitzes but the Artair dumps the ball off to the Bullet who makes a splendid catch in traffic. Bullet dodges out of traffic leaving Zutar stunned on the sideline looking at his mitts and wondering how he got away. Another foul by Knuckles and another Viking is knocked out. Bullet scores!!!! 2-1 Legion!

Too much time left on the clock. What a horrible deployment by Legion! They kick it short hoping for a blitz but are rewarded for their coaching incompetence with an easy touchdown by Jmon Moore.

Legion makes a final play for the one turn score to Bullet. Everything goes perfectly until he trips on the ice at the goal line. No touchdown today. All fans will have to be content with a draw.

Thanks again for tuning in Blood Bowl fans. Join us next week when Legion returns to Mordheim where they will face the rival Grenzburg Greenskins.
