“The game came down to a 2d against block that took place only because the only foul of the game didn't break armor and my dragon warrior was able to get up and blitz the ball carrier. That was just enough to allow the agile elves to pick up the ball and drive all the way down the field after a slow grinding drive from the dwarves.
We somehow had amazing luck for the entire game, getting pows on 1d blocks, while Mezir had all the trouble in the world to get someone down even on re-rolled 2 dice blocks. We also had great luck with dodges and such, merely causing any turnovers throughout the whole game.
The dwarves did manage to rough us up a bit, but we ended the game with no permanent injuries and an apothecary still unused. While my opponent was completely stunned by the unlikely turn of event resulting in his loss, he was a true sportsman throughout the whole game and my elves will love to give the brave dwarves a rematch in their next cycle.
First game ever against Mezir and although Nuffle clearly seemed to be on my side today, I know it's just a matter of time until the Waddling Warriors get their revenge!”

To keep it short, Uber pulled a Bendrig on me (<i>Definition: A Bendrig, 1) an insanely unlikely play, featuring either dodging through tackle zones, leaping without re-rolls, bringing down the opposing ball-carrier on a -2d block or all of those. 2) Being outclassed and outgunned by a team but pulling a win out your posterior. 3) Playing a vastly inferior coach, rolling 15 snake eyes, and losing a match that should have been impossible to lose. I chose to stand my ST 4 Dodge Runner next to a prone Dragon Warrior. Then I fouled the warrior with a nearby Blitzer, but failed to break armour. This resulted in a -2 Blitz on the Runner, a POW/Both Down result, Both Down chosen. The ball scattered the wrong way (for me) and out into the open, where an elf picked it up in a tackle zone, dodged, passed and ran away. He had used the re-roll on the Blitz, but he didn't need it.
In the entire match I think there were two turn-overs for Uber. One 1d skull when it no longer mattered, and a failed dodge with an AG 3 elf late in the second half, when the match had been decided. As has been mentioned, I hardly managed to bring any elves down, but those that did go down went down hard, on the whole (every av break was a cas... I don't think I actually managed a stun (or a KO) all match).
Uber was a nice opponent, and a brave opponent. One day I'll pay him back for this horrible loss (maybe on his next E.L.F. cycle ;)).
I wish I could have traded some CAS for TDs. All my losses vs elves are punctuated by horrific CAS rates. When I win I usually only hit one. Or none.
