“This matchup had been a long time in the making. The orcs were promising dripping blood all over the field and they did deliver, however with their own! This match also had the particularity of making use of team speak, Fumbbl's new voice chat communication program and I must say the experience was quite nice.

We were kicking it with AlcingRagaholic, mikafreak, McCloud and a few others that dropped by during the evening. It was fun to be able to comment live on the casualties and the constant pushing the orcs were doing. They had trouble knocking us down throughout most of the game, and there were some nice moments like when I was pressuring Tod to try a throw teamate touchdown. He actually did it and that's how he got both of his scores.

Since the replay probably won't work because of the reload we had to do, let me try to summarize quickly.

Elves start with the ball, score in two turn, the usual. Orcs get it back, ball is kicked deep. Orcs are bashing, elves aren't falling. Elves fight back, orcs fall down. Elves put pressure on the ball, but the orcs can't quite close the cage.

Leaping Dragon Warrior eventually blitzes the thrower and he's badly hurt, on top of a black orc who had been taken out early. He also takes the ball away, the orcs try to knock him down, he's only pushed but stripped from the ball. Then the elves use a chain push to get the Dragon free, after which he picks up the ball again and uses his agility to throw it deep out of everyone's range. The elves try to milk the SPPs, but the lineman rolls double 1 on the GFI and the team fails to score.

Second half, the orcs lose another guy on a throw a rock and the elves manage yet another cas early on. The elves go right for the ball, and get an easy score after the orcs fail a re-rolled dodge leaving the ball open right next to the end zone. The elves take the lead 2-0.

The orcs get the ball back again, this time they try the Throw Team Mate touchdown and it works! Elves get the ball, score. Orcs get the ball, try the TTM, really stupid fails. Next turn, try again, score again. Elves get the ball back, score again.

Along the way, there was one more cas for the elves, a badly hurt for the orcs and a MNG on the star lion in turn 8 which was saved by the apo.

Tod really could have used more luck on his blocks early in the game and a bit less from me in that department. It was a fun game and I'll be looking forward to playing him again.”
