“A fun game against a fun coach, but it was dice rape most of the game heh.
A virus took out most of my good players, and although I got a blitz, I rolled a snake-eyes on my GFI to get to the ball with an AG5 Gutter Runner and used up one of my only 2 RR for the half (doom and gloom).
Next turn, I got to attack his ball carrier, but 4 dice failed to net a single Pow or Dodge/Pow, leaving me with no RR for the rest of the half.
I managed to knock the ball free again, but my opponent then made a 4+ and 3+ dodge, 4+ pickup (foul appearance) and 2+ GFI to score. WTF?!?!?!
The rest of the half was a farce as I kept rolling a 1 for a 2+ dodge. Two turns in a row, allowing my opponent to knock the ball free. Third turn, my only action, a blitz to free my ball carrier, and I roll double skulls.
Next my opponent gets a pow on two dice (I can't get a push!) and knocks the ball free and then picks it up. I am forced to do two one dice blocks to push his player out of bounds to hope for a lucky crowd toss.
The ball comes in for me out of long bomb range (thanks to all my Gutters rolling 1s and getting stunned in the previous turns) and I have to hope for a luck out of bounds scatter to catch the ball in the end zone for an unlikely score but it was not to be.
Second half, I only had 10 players, with two of my better ones knocked out (failed both my KO rolls of course so I do a one turn TD to try and bring a player back.
At 1-1, my opponent tries a risky backfield pass that wasn't really necessary (4+ with rr) and the pass missed and I recovered the ball. To cut a long and tragic story short, after a battle for the ball, I went to hand off to a Gutter Runner to score (instead of scoring with a 120 SPP Gutter Runner) and I roll snake eyes. The ball goes way down the other end of hte pitch and my opponent ends up scoring. WTF?!?!?!
With 2 turns left, I manage to score a TD without any RR to draw the match.
Final result, no money, no FF loss. A MVP for a rookie. Not a great day out, with the dice so uneven (it was 49% to 60% luck late in the game) and so many damn 1s. Overall, not good as more SPP for players and no money to offset them getting closer to aging. At least no one got maimed, and I may have helped my opponent do some damage to his bowels as he was dying for a crap at about turn 3 second half and I made him stay and play LOL. ”
