An interesting game where virtually everything attempted by both sides worked, at least for the first 3/4 of the game. A very determined elven screen was keeping the human drive at bay for many turns, but eventually we burned through our meager supply of rerolls on failed dodges and skull/pows, allowing the humans the luxury of a 1-0 halftime lead.

Second half our ko's returned, and the elves set up to receive, stacking the LOS. But a perfect defense allows the humans to stack it even better...but elven agility actually worked this time, dodging our way to get the 2d blocks we needed to ko one human and knock down several more. Redman committed nearly his entire line to one side of the pitch, which left him open for the elves to reverse field and pass the ball to the left instead, waltzing backwards in for the tying score.

However, the humans had applied enough pressure to force the elves to score instead of stall, which gave them 5 turns to punch back in the go-ahead score. Ahh, but men aren't the only perfect defenders around here! Many 1d blocks ensue...

...now, don't get down on Redman for this turn, which was the defining turn of the entire match. Up til this point neither side had had luck below 65%, his was never below 75% by this point, and he literally could do no wrong luck-wise, be it dodging or 1d blocking...

...1d blocks ensue, until one lino bh's himself skull-punching an elf lino. Combined with the ko lino from before, the elves now have an 11-9 manpower advantage. Oops, ko blitzer, make that 11-8. Gang-foul'd another ko, 11-7, with one stun. The humans are getting desperate, which as any coach will tell you causes mistakes, some of the rare few seen in the match from the boys in blue. Freed ball, elves swarm in, take the ball for ourselves, and are able to screen off any possible human interference from our game-winning score as time expires.

GG, much fun despite using rookie teams, look forward to a rematch when both teams are a tad more developed!
