    1. A.P.E., Season 1, Game 5

Puggy Baconbreath, the AV 6 St 3 Stunty Blodger, made a guest appearance for the Human team, and would prove both a key threat and a disappointing sleeper. Meanwhile 2 key events, a timely Turn 9 Blitz! coupled with a lucky kick location, and then followed by a 6+ Interception sealed the victory for the Apes.

Rain started suddenly after both teams had lined up for the first kick, and would last all game, making ballhandling that much tougher for both sides. The Apes chose to receive, the ball landed on the LoS near the sideline and the caging started there. Turn 2 they swung back to field center, but then pushed back again through ragged lines to the 8 Turn 3, KO'ing a blitzer in the process. That's when Puggy double-dodged and got a 1d which Powed. The Apes replied by MNG'ing a Lino, played ping-pong with Puggy until (after 7 dice) they found a Pow (and a Stun), and re-caged. Out of position, their Ogre away from the play and marked and with only 3 other players standing or unmarked, DL set up a thin screen to end Turn 4, and Turn 5 CHUMP set up a strong screen (with a solid wall against Puggy!). The screen was effective enough that the Apes could try (and fail, and then succeed) to pass for a skill, and, after seeing their Guard Gorilla KO'd Turn 5 and KO'ing Puggy Turn 6, score Turn 8, 1-0.

The DL MA 9 Catcher had been off the field and forgotten, and CHUMP failed to defend against the OTS attempt - but 4 dice failed to find a Push for the initial blitz, no effect except a final foul that was spotted by the Ref - Human Loner banned.

2nd Half, the Guard Gorilla and Puggy were ~both~ still asleep, so 9 Humans received from 10 Apes. The Kick went short to one side of the LoS, a Blitz! KO'd the wing on that side and let the Apes cage around the ball - which was then caught by the MA 8 Chimp. They pushed up the undefended flank easily, stalled on the 3 yard line for 1 turn, and end of Turn 3 it was 2-0.

Starting Turn 4 the Gorilla came back, and the recently KO'd lino, but Puggy slept on, the 3rd kickoff he'd missed. This kick went deep, but before the Humans could try a long Pass(?), the ball was mis-handled in the rain despite Sure Hands. Both Chimps pushed up to threaten, and the Humans tried a risky pass over their heads - but one rolled a "6", interception, and by the end of Turn 5 it was 3-0.

The Apes could have stalled (if perhaps not the entire half), but wanted to get the ball back for a skill attempt, so the Human score was pressured but not stopped - along the sideline in a half-cage, 3-1.

In trying to pass for a skill the Apes almost lost the ball, but also almost scored again, however in the end the last few turns proved meaningless - game over, 3-1.
