In the year 2520 a major sponsor announced a new deal with the BB7s committee! The Hung Demonic Banking Corporation (HDBC) is proud to support the growing BB7s scene, and has created a new Sevens Series to raise the profile of the game further and give all teams a platform to fight for glory!

The competitions will consist of a pool stage and playoff stage. In the pool stages each team will play 5 games, and then in the playoff stage each team will play a further 2 games, with the top 4 teams competing to be the tournament champion, whilst the rest battle for honour and glory!
The top 4 team playoff will be seeded with #1 v #4 and #2 vs #3.
The Sevens Series tournaments will stop at famous world locations throughout the season.

HDBC competitions are organised in 'season' blocks. Each season will consist of 2 standard tournaments, followed by an optional knockout cup competition.

The season blocks alternate between the Old World and New World set of tournaments:

• All regular BB7s Ruleset teams are eligible
  
• All standard rules from BB7s apply here
  
• HDBC 7s tournaments use standard 2020 redraft rules, and after two tournaments (or 14 games if coming from open play) teams must redraft (unless entering a cup). The redraft cap is 750tv
  
• Tournaments will use 10d periods for each round
  
• It is expected that ~6 tournaments will run throughout a calendar year, plus occasional special events.
  
• Match points within a pool stage are: Win = 50, Draw = 20, Loss = 10, with additional 2pts per touchdown and 1pt per CAS
  
• Tiebreakers are: Head to head record (if only two teams tied), TD delta, CAS delta, TD total, CAS total, coin toss
  
• Further rules with stance on timeouts, concessions and extensions here

After completion of each tournament the teams will earn points based on final standings. Points accumulate throughout the season, with the highest annual total crowned the HDBC Sevens Series winner!

Note that the tier finals do influence the final standings, with the winner always deemed first and the runner-up always deemed second.

• Most TDs in the tournament = 2

• Player with most completions = 1
  
• Player with most fouls = 1
  
• Player with most blocks = 1
  
• Player with most turns played = 1
  

The Old World and New World cup will use the below points:

HDBC understands that some coaches may end up coaching multiple teams across a season (whether due to implosion or desire for change). Nonetheless they want to recognize the best coaching talent and so coaches will also be awarded points depending on their best finish across each tournament.
Similar to Sevens Series points these will accumulate throughout the season.
