Asparagus, along with his brothers Anchovie and Artichoke, joined the team after their disastrous 10th game, when 3 players were lost. The Inedible Brothers, as they were known - for no known reason - had been living on the streets, and coach Shigglez was hoping that their "street smartz" would help out on the pitch.

Asparagus was the eldest of the trio, and the strongest; he always seemed to be on the lookout for his little brothers.
