Klothilde was born into a minor Bogenhafen merchant family. Always a daddy's girl, she was fascinated by her father's involvement in a semi-secret organisation, the Ordo Septenarius. She was therefore delighted when her father began to permit her to serve drinks and food at some low-level society meetings as she reached adolescence. Just like other Bogenhafen folk not members of the society but who had some inkling of its existence, she was led to believe the Ordo Septenarius was simply a charitable society existing for the benefit of Bogenhafen's poor.
Only as Klothilde got older and as her father permitted her greater involvement in the society's activities did she begin to become suspicious: strange robes and rituals, ancient books written in incomprehensible languages, and whispered words just out of her hearing at society meetings became commonplace. But only when a group of outsiders confronted the society's inner council during a secret midnight meeting did something of the real truth become clear. None of inner circle returned that night, never to be seen again, and the fortunes of all involved in the society went rapidly downhill over the coming months. Many society men - including her father - were arrested and executed under charges of consorting with daemons.
Klothilde had the foresight to run. She travelled alone for many days and nights, narrowly avoiding being raped and killed by drunken male travellers and road bandits before she found herself, eventually, at the gates of the city of Nuln. From the city gates, she headed straight to the temple of Myrmidia, strangely drawn inexorably towards it. She was welcomed with open arms and the cult hid her identity from the authorities. From that day, Klothilde has never looked back, only forward as she trains hard on the field during the day and studies and prays long into the night, determined to track down the mysterious outsiders who were undoubtedly the cause of the society's downfall and who vanished without trace that fateful day. In her heart, Klothilde knows the society was evil to its very core and she is subconsciously readying herself to face the terrible truth and to seek out and destroy all those - whether family or not - who brought such misery and pain upon her and the people of Bogenhafen.
