Fredrich Altzen had a fairly inauspicious start to life, and didn't even find Blood Bowl until he was 16.
As a youth, he was not naturally athletic, but he was big and working as a dock hand to put food on his family's table gave him a physique that was the envy of his friends.
It was on the docks that he got his first taste for the Blood Bowl, playing mock games with trading merchant lackeys and sailors in breaks form his backbreaking work of moving cargo. He became a useful thrower, largely by accident, as his teams put him in that position because of his size and because he could hang onto the ball that bit longer.
One night, after a particularly lengthy grog session with the boys, he foolishly agreed to a wager with Jim 'Backhander' McNeill that he could down a draught of dwarf spirits without puking. The price? If he lost, he had to go and try out for the famous Averland Ambushers, a human Blood Bowl team of average success.
Needless to say poor Fredrich lost, and the rest is history as the struggling team were forced to sign him up after the mysterious death of all three of their top throwers.
On the pitch, Fredrich is nothing special, but he has worked his way to becoming the 7th player for coach reroller to reach 51 SPPs. He aged a niggle after his third skill roll, so he is unlikely to be saved by the apo, but he's a useful addition while he is still fit enough to play.
