It is unknown to which tribe Duryne belonged, but judging from her looks it probably was one of the Kurgan tribes.
Considering all data known about Duryne, she must have lived somewhere in the Northern Chaos Wastes and one day travelled far to the north, crossed into the Realm of Chaos, and experienced something of the infinite void in which the Chaos Gods themselves reside. She survived this ordeal and has been found worthy of serving Slaanesh.
Since she returned from the void, she is a dedicated devotee of Slaanesh.
