Gregor Wurfeller was just a standard farmhand helping out during plating season getting all the seeds sown so that the town would have enough crops to see them through the winter when a band of marauding orcs descended from the hills on the towns borders.

The orcs themselves wouldn't pose a large problem to the town as their was only around 40 orcs or so and a hundred or so goblins who are easily spooked. The problem with this attack was the giant runt who was leading the charge. He stood over 12 feet tall and although he was a runt to a normal giant this was still going cause problems for the towns defenders.

Valentin Huss and Quintus Jacob followed the lead of Ehrardt 'Eagle Eye' Meier and started to try and bringing the giant down with their bows until Gregor shouted at them to focus their fire with the rest of the towns archers at the orcs and horde of goblins.

Gregor just knelt down and sent a prayer up-to Sigmar and threw himself headlong into the giant and his bodyguard of 4 black-orcs. Sigmar must of heard this young lads prayers as the war-hammer in Gregor's hands was charged with a white energy which just went through the black orcs's armour as if it was grass. Then he stood alone vs the giant and he was prepared to sell his life for his town until a moment of clarity hit him. He knew if it failed he would die for sure but as he had already made his peace with death he decided to try and take down the giant with a single throw of his hammer.

His throw was straight and his faith in Sigmar was so strong that the giant dropped to the ground his skull split by the hammer thrown by a mere mortal. With this blessed throw Gregor knew he was forever a changed man and would have to smite down the foes of the God-emperor, he declined to attempt to enter the Greatswords as he sees the count of Talabecland a step down from fighting for Sigmar on the bloodbowl pitch
