All his life Kherg has envied his cousins and their life as truebloods. His father was a trueblood, but his mother a mere commoner. That left him a halfblood, only getting to attend officer training after his father called in every favour he had. Even favours he didn't have, Kherg's father even sold his priced battleaxe. That axe had been in the family since the time of Barakh Goldbeard. When Kherg found out who bought the battleaxe, the uncle of a spoiled bastard also attending the academy, he vowed to one day get it back.

The spoiled brat turned out to be particular to gambling so one day Kherg challenged him to a game of dice, and won! Not quite believing his luck he reclaimed the prized axe and returned to his quarters in a state of euphoria. This did not last long, as Kherg found the brat and a couple of prefects waiting for him. The bastard accused him of cheating and when it came down to the word of a trueblood against a halfblood Kherg knew he didn't stand a chance.

Disgraced and thrown into the iron mines Kherg swore he would return the battleaxe to the family and get his revenge!
