Team Bio Us wur cleverer than ‘E-ah, us diddled ‘E alright. In a pond up ‘Vizes way – smugglers ‘ad ‘idden a keg ‘o brandy & us wur trying to get at un. Us were scrabbling away with gurt ‘ay rakes when us spied ‘zizeman ‘a’watching. So us pointed to moon’s ‘flection in water & told un us wur “raking vor that gurt cheese”. ‘e thought us wur caddled & ‘ad ‘ad too much tiddley. So off ‘e went, laffing fit to bust ‘is britches. That’s why us Halflings be called “Moonrakers”, s’now. The legend of how the Halflings of Mosgiel ‘diddled’ the local authorities is a favourite in local taverns. The term Moonraker was used as a slight against the ‘silly’ Halflings, raking in the ‘cheese’, but the true moral of the Moonraker story is ‘Never underestimate a Halfling’. *** Did you know... In the Moonrakers first ever game, they came up against their most feared opponents.... Dwarves. The flings rose to the challenge and killed three of the bearded fellows and injuring two others and ran out 2-0 victors. *** Did you know... Shadowleaf suffers from animosity towards elven folk. In his second game he maimed three of them. He recently repeated the act against the snootier elves in a game against the Amateur Professionals. *** Did you know... There is only one member of the team that has played every game for the Moonrakers, the ever present Shadowleaf. Shadowleaf's treeman partner would also have played every game if it wasn't for a nasty foul from some Goblins. The coach of the goblins oversaw the death of a tree who played for a different Halfling team coached by Wozzaa a number of seasons a go. *** Did you know... In Season 92, the Mosgiel Moonrakers qualified to the Premiership of SWL becoming the very first Halfling team to do so. |
